Liberty Day 2023 Encourages SBS Families to ‘Press On’ in Service

The StoneBridge annual Liberty Day tradition honors SBS parents, grandparents, and other family members who are retired or active duty military, reservists, or Veterans of Foreign Wars.

This special day is one of the most beloved events by our community. The highlight of the service is a candle light ceremony, where students present a candle to honor the service of family members, living and deceased. Armed Forces veterans, active duty, and retired members are invited every year to participate in this ceremony with their students

This year’s keynote speaker, CAPT Emily Wall, U.S. Navy, and SBS parent, exhorted our community to press on in your calling and in service to your country.

This year’s theme, “Of virtue and valor” emphasized the call for Christians in the military to serve God faithfully, with integrity and courage. StoneBridge School thanks all our service members and military families who sacrifice daily for our liberty.

One of the most moving moments in our Liberty Day Chapel program this year was when SBS 8th Grader Trenton O’Quinn played Taps to honor our fallen.
